Environmental Cleanup
A key feature of the Proposed Project is the clean-up of a significant brownfield site in southeast San Francisco. The Human Health Risk Assessment and a Remedial Action Plan (RAP), which defines the clean-up goal and process for the site, was approved by California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) on November 16, 2009. With this remediation, the site will become safe, as stipulated by the State of California's standards, for the conversion of the brownfield site into housing, parks, and stores. Remediation activities will take approximately 30 months for the entire site, with continuing groundwater monitoring requirements thereafter.
