According to the statement made by the ministry, Varank visited the factory of Kolarc Makine at Ankara Chamber of Industry 2nd OSB. During the visit, the company’s General Manager, İlker Olucak, briefed Minister Varank on the activities they are carrying out. A presentation on the company’s scanning solutions was also given to Varank, who carried out inspections at the production facilities.

Varank, in his post-review assessment, said:

“This company started its business life by manufacturing inverter welding machines. With the Kolarc brand, we are a company that sells and exports to Turkey. Since power electronics are used in many different areas of the sector, they began to take their measurements to make inverters for solar panels. It is a company that does a very serious production in the field of power electronics. We visit the company. Welding machines are the basis of the The fact that these machines work closely with robots and industrial automation makes a significant contribution to production processes.”

Stating that the company started with 25 to 30 kilowatts and now sells 100 kilowatt solar panel inverters in the market and is ready to offer 167 kilowatt inverters in the market, Varank pointed out that the whole world is trying to reduce its carbon footprint, and how that amounts to investing more in renewables.

Emphasizing that Turkey is in an ideal sunny spot in the world, Varank said:

“Currently, solar power plants, rooftop solar panels, solar applications in agriculture are widely used all over Turkey. Here the complement of these solar panels are actually inverters. We don’t have any other company of domestic production in Turkey. It is a sector with an import of more than 100 million dollars. In this sense, I especially wanted to visit our friends. It is important for the economy of our country that the inverter is produced in Turkey with national means and is currently sold on the market. We, of course, “We don’t want to settle for just one brand. Our goal is to reduce imports, which currently amount to over $100 million. As the number of renewable energy projects and solar panels increase, investments in inverters will increase in Turkey.”

Noting that for the first time in Turkey, the domestic and national inverter was produced by almost reversing the technology of a welding machine, Varank pointed out that it is very valuable for the country’s industry, “They want to be an R&D center themselves. They have applied. In this sense, R&D here is in the field of power electronics. We will provide the necessary support to make the center.” used the sentences.

Varank said the company also carries out studies on cooperation, communication and automation of robots and inverter welding machines, and continued as follows:

“This automation will also contribute to the digitalization process. We have always tried to copy the models of certain countries to ourselves. Here is Industry 4.0. In fact, it is a mark of Germany, but when we talk about digitalization, our companies today can produce high-tech products in electronics themselves. They also provide solutions related to their digitization and automation. Here our engineers can develop. We have to see where Turkish industry is going and , therefore, if our SMEs are going to be digitized, if we are going to make the industry more efficient by digitizing, we must apply national solutions like this to the industry. In this sense, these works of our company are also very precious.

Minister Varank then called the authorities of the companies using Kolarc products and asked them for their opinion on the product. One of the business owners told Minister Varank, “I really fought for these machines.

Kolarc General Manager İlker Olucak pointed out that they set out to achieve firsts in the field of power electronics in Turkey and shared the following information:

“We are currently the first company in its field in Turkey with more than 40 engineers and 200 employees. There are examples in the sector that produce welding machines and inverters at the same time. We know the goals and the figures that they have achieved in the world”. We have accepted these international goals as our own goals. We have below them. We are taking all steps quickly to represent our country in the best possible way.”

Minister Varank: “The opposition has a speech, they say: ‘There is no production in Turkey, there is no factory.’ What do you think of this saying? When asked by General Manager Olucak, “We don’t have a problem with self-confidence. Everyone has to trust our human resources.” gave the answer.

Founded by Koloğlu Holding, Kolarc Makine and Solarkol Energy produce welding machines and solar inverter systems with international standards. Located in the 2nd Organized Industrial Zone of Ankara Chamber of Industry, Kolarc Makine carries out R&D, design and production activities with 100% domestic capital and human resources. The company, which has 200 employees, mostly women, exports 30% of its production. The company aims to triple the export figure of $6 million it achieved last year this year.

Inverters that convert direct current to alternating current are mainly used in solar power systems.

Solar energy is supplied to the system by converting it into electricity through inverters and making it suitable for the grid.
